Demon Slayer Chapter 111: Demon Slayer Chapter 111: Pretentious Artist - Gyokko's Art, Muichiro's Peril, and Mitsuri's Urgent Arrival

Demon Slayer Chapter 111, titled "Pretentious Artist," unleashes the full horror of Gyokko's artistic cruelty, pushing Muichiro Tokito to his limits and signaling the urgent arrival of Mitsuri Kanroji in the Swordsmith Village Arc. The chapter opens with Gyokko, the Upper Rank Five demon, introducing himself to Muichiro, Kozo Kanamori, and Kotetsu. He demands a moment before killing them, dramatically presenting his gruesome "art" piece: "Death Throes of the Smiths," a horrifying display of mangled swordsmiths impaled with their own blades. As Gyokko meticulously describes his work, a horrified Kozo and Kotetsu recognize and name the victims. Gyokko taunts them with their reactions, twisting one of the swords to elicit a scream of pain from a still-living swordsmith, showcasing his sadistic nature and twisted sense of aesthetics in the chilling narrative of the Demon Slayer manga.

Aggravated by Gyokko's grotesque exhibition, Muichiro attacks the demon, but Gyokko swiftly retreats into his pot before the Hashira can strike. He reappears in another pot on the shed's roof, demonstrating his unique ability to instantly switch between his pots. Muichiro, noting this power, slices up the pot on the roof. Gyokko quickly switches to yet another pot, appearing out of thin air on the ground, and expresses great irritation at Muichiro for destroying his "artwork." The demon then summons a couple of fish demons, which launch a surprising Blood Demon Art: Thousand Needle Fish Kill, showering hundreds of sharp needles at Muichiro. The skilled swordsman manages to dodge the initial volley, but is forced to endure multiple hits from a second attack to protect Kozo and Kotetsu. He urges the civilians to flee as the fish demons continue their relentless assault, highlighting his unwavering dedication to protecting the innocent, even at his own peril.

Gyokko stands by, mockingly laughing at Muichiro's appearance, covered in numerous needles. He reveals that the needles contain a potent poison, chiding Muichiro for sacrificing himself to save "insignificant people." Gyokko's dehumanizing words trigger a strong sense of familiarity in Muichiro, who struggles to recall where he had heard such sentiments before, his mind momentarily flashing back to a hot summer day in a small abode. The demon then expresses his eagerness to create a magnificent sculpture using a Hashira, but his boast is interrupted by Muichiro's renewed attack. Gyokko counters with Blood Demon Art: Water Prison Pot, trapping Muichiro within a pot-shaped prison of water, rendering him unable to breathe or attack, as his blade cannot pierce the impenetrable water layer. He laughs at Muichiro's desperate predicament, proclaiming the Twelve Kizuki's ultimate goal: to weaken the Demon Slayers and reach Kagaya Ubuyashiki, further escalating the high stakes of the battle.

As a crow caws through the night, Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Hashira, races through the forest with urgent determination. She pushes herself to hurry, enthusiastically noting the convenience of the Swordsmith Village's proximity to her stationed location. This dramatic conclusion to Demon Slayer Chapter 111 sets the stage for Mitsuri's pivotal intervention, as Muichiro faces imminent death and the Swordsmith Village is under direct attack by powerful Upper Rank demons, promising an explosive continuation of the thrilling narrative in the Demon Slayer manga.
