Demon Slayer Chapter 191: Demon Slayer Chapter 191: Which One of Us is the Demon - Tanjiro's Return, Hashiras' Sacrifice, and Muzan's True Form Revealed
Demon Slayer Chapter 191, titled "Which One of Us is the Demon," marks a pivotal moment in the Sunrise Countdown Arc as Tanjiro Kamado, after being on the brink of death, miraculously reawakens to rejoin the battle against Muzan Kibutsuji, whose devastating attacks leave the Hashiras severely wounded. Yushiro, relentlessly injecting Tanjiro with Tamayo's antidote, is questioned by nearby Demon Slayers about the safety of such a high dosage. Yushiro silences their concerns, asserting Tanjiro's will to fight is evident in his unyielding grip on his katana. Suddenly, a Demon Slayer holding Tanjiro's head exclaims that his pulse has returned, followed by Tanjiro's katana creaking as his grip tightens, and he jolts back to consciousness, ready to confront Muzan.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing fight against Muzan, a hidden Kakushi observes with renewed hope as Gyomei Himejima cleaves off Muzan's left torso, while Sanemi Shinazugawa places a seal on his forehead, immediately enabling him to see Kanao Tsuyuri, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira. Inosuke, emboldened, declares his desire for a red blade like the Hashiras, as Sanemi unleashes Wind Breathing, Seventh Form: Gale, Sudden Gusts towards Muzan. Gyomei, invigorated by the new fighters, concentrates deeply, activating the Transparent World. He discovers Muzan possesses multiple hearts and brains that constantly shift within his body, making decapitation ineffective. Believing that if others could also perceive Muzan in the Transparent World, they could simultaneously strike his vital organs, Gyomei urges his companions to focus their vision. For a fleeting moment, Obanai Iguro achieves this, shocked by the profound revelation.
However, their moment of clarity is shattered as Muzan unleashes a devastating all-directional attack, flattening everything around him and flinging the Demon Slayers into the debris. The hidden Kakushi, horrified, sees Gyomei knocked into a building, having lost a leg, Sanemi flung into an upper storey, and Obanai, Zenitsu, and Inosuke all rendered unconscious. Giyu Tomioka's sword arm is severed, and Kanao's blade snaps as her seal falls off, leaving her frozen in fear before Muzan. As Muzan prepares to strike the defenseless Kanao, Tanjiro miraculously intervenes, performing Hinokami Kagura: Beneficent Radiance and severing Muzan's arm, which sizzles and fails to immediately regenerate. Tanjiro apologizes to Kanao for his delay, entrusts her to the Kakushi, and turns to face Muzan. Muzan, looking at the heavily injured Tanjiro, taunts him, remarking that it's hard to tell which one of them is the demon. Recognizing Tanjiro's unsettling resemblance to Yoriichi Tsugikuni, Muzan declares that Tanjiro makes his skin crawl, prompting Tanjiro to defiantly challenge Muzan to finish their battle, setting the stage for a final, climactic showdown in the Sunrise Countdown Arc of the Demon Slayer manga.
