Demon Slayer Chapter 201: Demon Slayer Chapter 201: The King of Demons - Tanjiro's Demonic Rebirth, Sun Immunity, and the Final Battle for Humanity
Demon Slayer Chapter 201, titled "The King of Demons," unveils a shocking and horrifying turn of events in the immediate aftermath of Muzan Kibutsuji's defeat. As Muzan disintegrates with the rising sun, he reflects on his past, his own near-death experiences, and his ultimate desire for eternal feelings. In his final act, Muzan transfers all his remaining blood and will into Tanjiro Kamado, intending for Tanjiro to become the ultimate Demon King—one capable of conquering the sun and destroying the Demon Slayer Corps in his stead.
To the horror of the surviving Hashiras and Kakushi, Tanjiro, previously thought dead, undergoes a grotesque transformation. His severed arm regenerates, his eyes take on a demonic glow, and a mutated Demon Slayer Mark reminiscent of Kokushibo's appears on his face. He lunges at a Kakushi, only to be intercepted by Giyu Tomioka. What follows is a desperate struggle as the sun rises, initially causing Tanjiro to burn and writhe in agony. However, to everyone's utter disbelief, Tanjiro suddenly stops burning, revealing his newfound immunity to sunlight. This unprecedented development confirms Muzan's success and plunges the Demon Slayers into a moral and existential crisis. Inosuke Hashibira intervenes, attempting to reason with the demonic Tanjiro, while Zenitsu Agatsuma approaches, supported by a Kakushi. The chapter culminates in the terrifying realization that the Demon Slayers now face their greatest foe in the form of their beloved comrade, setting the stage for a tragic and desperate final confrontation.
