Demon Slayer Chapter 162: Demon Slayer Chapter 162: Trio of Victory - Shinobu's Poison, Kanao and Inosuke's Combined Attack, and Doma's Final Defeat
Demon Slayer Chapter 162, titled "Trio of Victory," reveals the devastating culmination of Shinobu Kocho's sacrifice, as Kanao Tsuyuri and Inosuke Hashibira launch a combined assault that finally leads to the defeat of Upper Rank Two, Doma. In a flashback, Shinobu explains to Kanao her plan to confront Upper Rank Two: she would allow herself to be consumed, shocking Kanao. Shinobu reveals her body is saturated with wisteria poison, absorbed over a year, far surpassing what Kanao could achieve. She confides that even Kagaya Ubuyashiki considered it impossible, but advised her to consult a demon for further knowledge. Shinobu warns Kanao that if the poison works, she must not let her guard down and deliver the finishing blow by severing Doma's neck. Kanao, resolute, vows that Shinobu's sacrifice will not be in vain. This intense preparation underscores Shinobu's unwavering determination and Kanao's commitment to avenging her sisters, setting the stage for a climactic showdown in the thrilling narrative of the Demon Slayer manga.
Doma, now visibly deteriorating from Shinobu's poison, collapses further as his arm falls off, bones melt, and regeneration fails. He realizes the poison's effects only now, and his ice dolls also fracture and collapse, baffling Inosuke. Kanao, recognizing Shinobu's plan is working, sees Doma cornered. As Kanao and Inosuke converge on the weakened demon, Doma summons his final technique, Blood Demon Art: Rime - Water Lily Bodhisattva, forming a massive ice bodhisattva that towers over them. Stunned by the new threat, the giant ice figure slams into the cult room pond, sending Inosuke and Kanao flying. Kanao realizes that if they are forced out of the fog, Doma will recover, but entering it means inhaling lethal ice, making further combat impossible. However, she discerns that Doma's bodhisattva, though powerful, is crude, a last-ditch effort born from his failing precision, a testament to the poison's debilitating effect.
Kanao, remembering Shinobu's warning about the potential blindness from her ultimate technique, decides to use it anyway, asking why she should fear for her vision when Shinobu gave her life. She cherishes her sister as sweet and honorable, declaring her desire to protect her and for her, Aoi, Sumi, Kiyo, and Naho to return home together. Kanao activates Flower Breathing: Final Form - Equinoctial Vermilion Eye, her eyes flushing with blood as her perception heightens beyond anything prior. The giant bodhisattva appears to slow in her vision, and she sees its hand about to strike. Noticing her scleras turning red, she quickly slices the ice figure's hand to reach Doma. As she swings her katana at Doma's decaying head, the bodhisattva retaliates, blasting Kanao with icy fog, freezing her back and arms, preventing her from completing the strike. Inosuke, witnessing this, unleashes a new technique, Sudden Throwing Strike, hurling his blades at Doma. His swords strike Kanao's, driving the blade through Doma's neck and finally decapitating him. This collective effort, fueled by Shinobu's sacrifice and the unwavering resolve of Kanao and Inosuke, marks a significant victory against one of Muzan's most formidable Upper Ranks, showcasing the profound bonds and sacrifices within the Demon Slayer Corps in the thrilling Infinity Castle Arc of the Demon Slayer manga.
